When I moved in next to Jay Gatsby I was not quite sure what
to feel. All I knew is that he was throwing these amazing extravagant parties
but what was the reason. When I got to know Jay a little better I came to
realize whether he would like to admit it or not he threw these parties so he
would one night run into the love of his life, Daisy. I don’t know if I mentioned
but Daisy is my cousin and she is married to a man named Tom. I have grown
aware of how bad the marriage between Daisy and Tom is. When Jay found out that
I was related to Daisy, you could tell he became a little bit more interested.
After Gatsby talked to Jordan Baker, a close friend of Daisy’s, he had
convinced her that she must ask Nick to invite Daisy to visit. Did he want me
to do this so while my beloved cousin Daisy is here visiting Gatsby will just
happen to drop by. I at this point was becoming close with Jay and wanted to do
him a favor. I helped Daisy because he knew that her marriage wasn’t what she
wanted. I helped her because I know something good would come out of it.
